Coffee

Coffee is not just great with a dash of milk; it is the perfect skin care companion.

Next time you are at your local coffee roaster, pick up a bag of freshly ground coffee. Scrub, exfoliate, plump and invigorate your skin with ground coffee beans.

Simply mix ground coffee beans with melted coconut oil, or olive oil to create a paste and store in an air tight jar.

Keep this jar near the bath or shower and use as a whole-body exfoliator.  Scrub the rough bean scrub all over your body (including your face), enjoy the amazing smell as you step away from the water for 5 minutes and then wash off with warm running water.

Voila! Your skin will feel baby soft and smooth.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera is a natural skin care essential, there is not much that aloe vera can’t do; when it comes to looking after your skin.

If you do not own an aloe vera plant it is well worth the investment. When picking a variety the Aloe barbadensis plant is recommended.

Cut a leaf off the plant and squeeze the end until some of the gel leaves the leaf, now this gel is your new beauty gold mine. It can be used externally for minor burns, rashes, scarring and sunburn.

Try rubbing it into the ends of your hair to combat split ends, under the eyes to assist fine lines and wrinkles and all over the face and body for a potent moisturiser.
